Just blackness and a single candle with flame. So why is there no light being shone against the background? How is it possible to have a flame in this way with blackness everywhere else, and the full absence of light? Our minds may be trying to make sense of this but there may not be an obvious answer.
I can’t help but think the candle has a resemblance to dynamite. If that is the case, we may be seeing the start of something that has more power than we can imagine. That power may clear the way for something better or it may bring about destruction with no positive outcome. It is up to us to decide how we use that power, and to what ends. If this is the first time we are encountering this energy we feel unsure as to how to best harness it.
The black background in that case is in effect, a blank canvas for us to work with. Instead of seeing what we have at our disposal, we have darkness only as the visual cue. Personally, I see the flame as being something to focus on. Something that may take away the edge of the darkness we sometimes feel engulfs us. A singular and pure energy that has the ability to become something much, much more…
