High Priestess

Came from a road where shadows writhe in torment. I know not how I ended up there, perhaps I was a specter who knew it not. The irony is that the anguish and torment was all in my mind, of course.

A whole world made up of villains trapped in a loop that played itself over and over as I harbored countless offenses in this little heart of mine the way a leprechaun harbors his tiny pot of fool’s gold. My splendid Bifrost shimmered with unshed tears, each one glittering like a perfect diamond carelessly scattered behind me.

Poetry of Dante Alighieri
Inferno:

Canto I
Midway upon the journey of our life
I found myself within a forest dark,
For the straightforward pathway had been lost.
Ah me! how hard a thing it is to say
What was this forest savage, rough, and stern,
Which in the very thought renews the fear.
So bitter is it, death is little more;
But of the good to treat, which there I found,
Speak will I of the other things I saw there.
I cannot well repeat how there I entered,
So full was I of slumber at the moment
In which I had abandoned the true way.
I can! I can repeat how there I entered!!!

I met the wicked Moon Goddess who led me further into the labyrinth. She said to leave all these hateful thoughts behind… for she will take me into the hidden chambers of my heart. Together we will find the demon and when we do, she will hand me the blade so I may slay him while he sleeps.

How does one resist such temptation? One does not!!

The beast was here all along…
